About Us

Nishitani & Co., Ltd. was found in 1928 in Osaka, Japan under the name of Nishitani Shoten, a private concern owned by the Nishitani family. The company has started as an official sales agent of Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. handling new material of non-ferrous and its products.
The company was officially incorporated under the new law of Japan and operated under the name of Nishitani Kinzoku Co., Ltd in 1949, and was again changed the name to Nishitani & Co., Ltd. in 1954.
In strengthening Nishitani’s business activities and pursuing promising development, Tokyo Sale Office has established in 1957 and has later upgraded to Tokyo Branch in 1974. 

Against the backdrop of globalization, the number of market economics is growing and regional inter-dependence are deepening. The pace of integration of regional economics has accelerated. In 1996, the company has decided to set up his first oversea affiliated operation in Hong Kong, under the name of Nishitani (Asia) Ltd.
With the establishment of Nishitani (Asia) Ltd., the company is well positioned to respond to the operating environment stimulated by these mega trends and by their synergistic interaction, because of its extensive experiences in many industries and board range of activities and services.  After on a half century of development, today, Nishitani has become an international trading house having a well connected global market, network and extensive international business experience. Nishitani’s trading activities have almost covered every corner of the world. 
In the years ahead, Nishitani will continue to focus on enhancing its value as a global enterprise through the consolidated management of a large group of affiliated companies in Japan and overseas, particularly in China.
